There’s nothing unlucky about today’s update!

The chart of progress still remains the same as the last update. We're in FULL production and should be completed very soon. Shipping is still on target for Q3 and we’ll have a better idea of dates once production wraps.

Some of you asked about the coins in our last update. You can get an up-close look at them in our March 25 update but here they are, stacked packed, and quivering with anticipation to join the other add-ons for shipping to all you champions of Barcadia!

We have thousands of hand-packed Coins of Conflict Resolution and Coins of Magic Pourtals being finished up at Shire Post Mint and we can’t wait to get them in your hands.

Happy Friday the 13th and keep an eye out for hockey mask-wearing baddies; we’ve already got enough monsters running around Barcadia.

A Ton of Good News

Happy Q2, everyone! We must have rolled a Nat 20 in the luck department this month because we’ve got a ton of great news in this update. First up — the chart of progress!

As you can see, all our add-ons are now officially in full production! Countless hours of testing have finally paid off as our add-ons are being created.

We’ve added the stretch goal tiles and cards to the Roll20 version of the game and are moving to the testing phase. We’re still planning to launch the Roll20 version with the physical game.

All that to say, Heroes of Barcadia is still on track for a Q3 delivery date. We know nothing is certain in these post-pandemic-maybe-still-a-pandemic-does-anyone-REALLY-know-what’s-going-on times, but this is where we are as of this update.

One thing we are certain of is that Rollacrit turned two this week! As we enter our terrible twos, we’re looking forward to 1. Delivering Heroes of Barcadia to all you thirsty adventurers and 2. Other stuff?

Barcadians, rejoice! All of those “Your BackerKit is being charged soon” reminders sprinkled throughout our previous updates finally paid off — it's been just over 2 weeks since we charged cards and we successfully completed the transactions for most of our backers. Huzzah!

But don’t worry if your card was declined, we’ll attempt the charge again. You might want to roll an investigative check and verify your payment info just in case. We’ve been working with many people through Kickstarter messages to resolve issues as they’ve crept up. Here’s a bunch of questions we’ve been seeing:

Ummmm… why was I charged? I already paid?

The BackerKit charge was for shipping and taxes/VAT, plus any add-ons and extras you ordered when you filled out the backer survey. And yes, you did already pay some in July, but that was for your original Kickstarter pledge.

Oh no! I saw the BackerKit charge went through, but I’m moving soon. Is it too late to update my address?

No, no, sweet adventurer. Update your shipping address at will. We’ll let you know when the cut-off date for updating your address is coming up.

How do I update my address on BackerKit?

Great question! The quickest way is to go to https://heroesofbarcadia.backerkit.com/backer/review, and click “Edit Shipping Info” in the Shipping Info box located at the top left of the page. Some people have had issues changing their state. If that happens, just send us a message and we can help!

I forgot what I ordered on BackerKit… how do I check that?

Go to https://heroesofbarcadia.backerkit.com/backer/review, and you’ll be able to review your order. (There should also be a link in your email.)

First is a close-up of the Party Pack, including Maltilda, Tipple, and juicy new enemies. The packaging is designed to make it sit proudly by your official box. For those of you wondering what the Party Pack Glass Set looks like, we’ve got the full view here:

Now for the main event. The unobscured full box (including the heavy-duty rope handle)...

Tadah! You can see the back too, with graphics that match the new game pieces. We’re not gonna lie — it’s a pretty attractive box. And just look at all that lore!

Lastly, we've had a busy couple of weeks showing the game off on JoCo Cruise and at GAMA!!! This first picture is the (physical) maiden voyage of Heroes Barcadia at sea. Lotta peace signs, but no peace was had amongst these Heroes!

And here, at GAMA, we can see someone discovering the pain of hallways for the first time... along with the traps your fellow adventurers may leave behind as presents.

We Cast REVEAL on Production Samples!

Good things come in small packages. But epic, adventurous, dungeon-spanning adventures come in multiple boxes. Welcome to Barcadia, adventurer.

It is our great pleasure to introduce you to our final production samples — physical manifestations of our hard work finally revealed! Though you’ve seen a test print version of our game throughout the Kickstarter, this is the first time we’ve been able to showcase the Party Pack, Massively Enhanced Dice, Turn Tracker, Potion Opener, Game Mat, and Glass Sets.

Keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle and let’s take a look at everything up close!

First up is our new upgraded Heroes of Barcadia game box, and what's that on top of the box? Why, it's the Party Pack featuring Maltilda and Tipple. These are our standard plastic cups that feature your Health Point lines and adorable character designs.

Next is our Base Game Glass Set (and the Party Pack Glass Set)!

Look at that shine. Look at the clarity of the print! We went back and forth trying to get the design to be crystal clear on this glass and getting the Health Point lines just right. We’re happy with the quality and can’t wait to get these in your hands.

Near the bottom of the Base Game Glass Set, you’ll see our Potion Opener with a faux leather handle. It's sturdy and no animals were harmed for you to open your drinks. 😉

To the left is our Turn Tracker stand to help people keep track of whose turn it is. We hope this piece will save your game from a lot of yelling, pulling hair, and passive-aggressive comments. Well, more than usual, that is.

Near that is our Massively Enhanced Dice Set and Bottle Cap Traps. Note the custom molding and the glittering brightness of the dice! And the upgraded Bottle Cap Traps look amazing on the dungeon tiles, with their bright color meshing quite nicely with the rest of the game pieces.

Now, look to your left. Could it be… a glimpse of the Enhanced Drink Hoard with the gold foil effect? Nice!

Last but not least, is our rubber table Game Mat, which we reworked a bit to be more dungeony. The stone texture puts us in the mood for a custom dungeon-building exploration adventure.

Seeing these samples from the factories assembled is extremely exciting for us, and we hope this peek gives you a thrill until our next reveal. (We have a +5 rhyming skill)

Shipping Update — Stop me if you’ve heard this one...

Did you hear the one about the Kickstarter that had to push its original delivery date because of the chaotic state of the global supply chain? You have? Well, here’s another…

Because of extra time in getting final production samples improved, an increase in raw material costs, and the window for game component production being shortened, we’re adjusting our delivery date to Q3 of this year. We are committed to delivering Heroes of Barcadia to you this year and we appreciate your patience and support.

After going through multiple sample reviews, we’ll be going into full production in February once Chinese New Year ends. Due to power restrictions in China, the factories producing our plastic cards, tiles, dice, and cups are only able to operate two days a week now. Coupled with production restrictions that will be in place for the upcoming winter Olympics, this has led to a much longer production window than earlier anticipated.

Now, have you heard about the Kickstarter that had 700+ backers who never filled out their Backerkit Survey? Well, unfortunately, it’s true. Since we are pushing back the delivery date for the product, we are also pushing back the date for your credit card to be charged for shipping and add-ons to March 7th.
